The Zhao Family Ancestral House

The Zhao Family Ancestral House is located in Group 8 of Ciyun Village. Built during the Qing Dynasty, it covers an area of 574 square meters. The residence features a traditional courtyard layout, with the main hall and right wing room still preserved. It is constructed with a post-and-lintel wooden frame, covered with small blue tiles, and has bamboo-woven walls. The main hall is five bays wide and 6.25 meters deep, while the wing room is three bays wide and 8.5 meters deep. The courtyard includes a corridor, and the eaves are adorned with exquisitely carved hanging melons and other patterns, while the porch pillars feature carvings of flowers, birds, and animals. The house is built with regular proportions and an imposing style, exemplifying typical Qing Dynasty residential architecture, and holds significant historical value for the study of rural Qing-era houses.
