Guanyin Bridge Stone Weir

Guanyin Bridge Stone Weir is located in Xiongba Village, Fushan Town. Constructed between 1969 and 1971, the weir stands 4.4 meters high and stretches 60 meters long, storing 890,000 cubic meters of water. Upon closer inspection, the waterfall before you resembles scattered silver blossoms, accompanied by the crisp, melodious sound of flowing water. Standing quietly on the stone bridge, you can see egrets slowly flying down to land on the rocks within the waterfall, as if they too are listening intently.

Women wash clothes and chat by the river, ducks leisurely swim in the water, an elderly woman heads home after doing her washing, and children playfully run around on the stone bridge.

Sparrows chirp noisily in the woods.

All is peaceful and serene, as if waiting for someone dear to return. Such tranquil beauty evokes thoughts of Ma Zhiyuan’s poem “Tian Jing Sha · Autumn Thoughts”:

Withered vines, old trees, evening crows

A small bridge, flowing water, a cottage

An ancient road, west wind, a lean horse

The sun sets in the west

A heartbroken man at the edge of the world
