Anhe Fort

Anhe Fort is a cultural relic protection unit of Fushun County.

Anhe Fort is located on Wangdashan Mountain in Group 14 of Tianbian Village. Built during the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period, it covers an area of 50,000 square meters. It is said that the fort was constructed by Guo Huawu, a brigade commander under General Cai E, for recruiting soldiers, military training, and defending against bandits. The fortress is roughly oval in shape, measuring 330 meters from north to south and 200 meters from east to west. Stone walls were built along the mountainside, with two gate towers on the west and south, as well as five watchtowers (gun towers). Within the fort, courtyards and a training ground were built along the terrain, along with cultivated fields and water sources. Residential houses are scattered across the site, featuring practical designs and a simple style. Its high and perilous location, layered fortifications, solid and heavy construction, and heavily guarded barriers made it highly defensible and difficult to attack. Currently, the west gate tower, south watchtower (gun tower), several buildings, and remnants of the fort walls are preserved. It is one of the more intact ancient forts in the county and has been listed as a county-level cultural relic protection unit.
