The Second Buddha Temple in Rong County, Zigong, is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Introduction to the Second Buddha Temple in Rong County, Zigong

The Second Buddha Temple in Rong County features cliffside Buddhist statues clustered along the rock face, with over a thousand carvings in total. During the Tang and Song dynasties, it was known as "Futu Cliff," also called the Thousand Buddha Cliff. Due to the many gilded and colorful Buddha statues that shine brilliantly under sunlight, it is also referred to as the "Golden Splendor Cliff."

The main statue is a seated Maitreya Buddha carved during the Tang Dynasty, standing 5.8 meters tall and 2.6 meters wide. The left and right niche walls are carved with 28 smaller niches housing a total of 120 Buddha statues.

Protected area: 5 meters beyond the temple’s boundary.

Construction control zone: East to 55 meters outside the Second Buddha niches, South to 160 meters outside the Second Buddha niches, West to 230 meters outside the Second Buddha niches, North to 220 meters outside the Second Buddha niches.
