Located in Longtan Town, Youyang, the canyon stretches over 10 kilometers. With winding paths leading to serene spots and murmuring streams, the canyon is 8 to 10 meters wide at its broadest and only 2 to 3 meters at its narrowest. The vertical drop of the canyon exceeds 1,000 meters. It combines “myriad acres of azaleas, thousands of hills ablaze with autumn foliage, century-old ancient villages, eight hundred peculiar peaks, and ten miles of leisurely canyons,” and is renowned for its majesty, uniqueness, danger, beauty, ruggedness, and serenity.
