Located in Longmen Stream, Jinping Village, Mingzhong Township, Chengkou County. Currently, the tree stands over 30 meters tall, with a trunk diameter of 3.47 meters and a crown covering an area of 1,320 square meters. It dates back to before the Han Dynasty, with a history of over 1,900 years. The tree is lush and verdant, bearing abundant fruit through the centuries, and its tree roots have accumulated to reach a length of 3 meters. Its branches droop to the ground and take root anew, creating the rare spectacle of trees within trees, growing together in mutual dependence. As a living relic of great age, the Millennium Ginkgo is both a senior among trees and a guardian deity in the hearts of local people. On days of worship, hundreds and even thousands of visitors trek up the mountain to hang colorful streamers, burn incense, and kneel in prayer, seeking blessings for the safety and health of their families. In 2011, it was honored as one of Chongqing’s “Top Ten Tree Kings—Tourism Image Ambassador Trees” in the Forest Tourism Awards.
