Shentian Grassland

Shentian Grassland is situated atop the Chongqing-Shaanxi border ridge, about 47 kilometers north of the county town, at an altitude of around 2,500 meters. It spans 15 kilometers east-west and 4 kilometers north-south, with a total area of 64 square kilometers, encircled by virgin forests. Winding up the mountain, you’ll find ancient trees reaching skyward. When golden autumn sets in, the mountains are dyed crimson, forests layered in rich colors, and the crisp autumn wind brings a refreshing chill, as if the sky is adorned with splendid clouds and rosy hues—making the Daba Mountains even more majestic. The entire grassland, held aloft by towering peaks, features undulating green hills, clustered and scattered; the lush meadows stretch around the hills. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the ranges of the Bashan Mountains surge forward, offering a panoramic view of the landscapes of Chongqing and Shaanxi. Its grand scenery and majestic presence deliver a transcendent feeling of being far from the mundane world and close to the heavens. Scenic spots on the grassland such as Shentian (Divine Field), Tiankeng (Heavenly Pit), Xuandong (Whirlpool Cave), Red and Black Pools, Three Stones, and Leihongshi (Thunder-Roared Lion), each with its own magical legend, are like brilliant stars scattered across the azure sky.
