During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the ancient city of Ding'an was once bustling and prosperous, famously known as the "Little Suzhou." The exhibition hall uses a scale model to recreate the city’s historical appearance. The ancient city still has its west gate and north gate, while sections of the city wall remain in the northwest and southwest, totaling about 1,000 meters in length. Numerous cultural relics and historic sites are preserved, making it the only relatively intact county-level city wall still existing in Hainan.
