Guanyang Taizi Mountain Primeval Forest
The Taizi Mountain Primeval Forest is located in the Yao Ethnic Township to the southwest of Guanyang County. The scenic area features a primeval forest covering 80,000 mu, home to rare and precious tree species such as Chinese hemlock and Cathaya argyrophylla.
Taizi Mountain Primeval Forest — Taizi Mountain lies in the heart of the Haiyang Mountain Nature Reserve, 55 kilometers from the county seat and 60 kilometers from downtown Guilin. This scenic area boasts a primeval forest covering over 80,000 mu, surrounded by mountains and waterways, with ancient trees towering overhead. It is home to more than 20 types of rare and valuable tree species—including the southern Chinese hemlock and Cathaya argyrophylla—as well as over 50 kinds of rare birds and animals. The air here is fresh, filled with birdsong and floral scents. Nearby villages maintain simple, distinctive customs and are rich in beautiful folk legends and traditional Yao ethnic culture.
