Introduction to Guanjiang National Wetland Park

The Guanjiang Wetland is located in the headwaters of the Xiang River, a first-level tributary of the Yangtze River, and within one of China's three major migratory bird corridors. It lies in the Nanling region, one of China’s 35 priority areas for biodiversity conservation.

In addition, the Guanjiang Wetland borders the Qianjiadong National Nature Reserve and the Haiyangshan Autonomous Region-level Nature Reserve. It is an important area for protecting water ecological resources and regional biodiversity, and is representative on a national scale.

The wetland area of Guanyang Guanjiang National Wetland Park covers 510.21 hectares, with a wetland ratio of 83.31%. The development of the wetland park helps maintain the ecological security of the Guanjiang area.

Scope of Guanyang Guanjiang National Wetland Park: Starting from the confluence of the Nongjing Niujiang, Dahejiang, and Xiaohejiang streams, it follows the river through Nongjing, Guanyinge, Huangguan, Xinjie, and Guanyang Town, extending to the county seat. The park primarily encompasses both banks of the river, including some small adjacent land areas such as the former residence of Tang Jingsong, the Dajingtang Ecological Garden, and the Daofengtang New Village.
