Fengtinghe Reservoir

Fengtinghe Reservoir is located in Gongzheng Township, Shangsi County. Built in 1960, it has a total storage capacity of approximately 560 million cubic meters, with the normal water surface area of the reservoir covering about 3,180 acres. The reservoir area presents unique features in all four seasons. In spring, the waters are azure and rippling, while various wildflowers along the shore bloom in a riot of colors. Boating on the water, visitors can fully enjoy the essence of spring. In summer, the shores are shaded by lush green trees, birds chirp merrily among the foliage, and cool breezes drift over the water, making it an ideal place to escape the heat. In autumn, the air is crisp and clear, the lake water is pristine, and the autumn waters blend seamlessly with the horizon. Among the green leaves of the trees along the shore, clusters of red maple leaves stand out, allowing visitors to appreciate the poetic scene of “maple leaves redder than the flowers of early spring.” In winter, boating on the reservoir with the cool air and relatively warm water, one can gaze into the distance to see various migratory waterbirds from the north that have come to spend the winter, playing peacefully on the water’s surface. Encountering winter rain or the misty fog of spring or autumn further adds a sense of mystery to the travel experience.
