The former residence of Huang Shaorong is located in Shancui Village, Licheng Town, Rong County. It faces south and was built in the mid-Qing Dynasty by his father, Huang Yuliang. It is a simple traditional folk building without elaborate carvings or paintings. The structure consists of four five-bay sections, flanked by two layers of side corridors, forming a "Fu" (wealth) character-shaped layout. In front of the left side corridor, there is a watchtower, and a taller building at the rear right also serves as a lookout post. The entire building has a rigorous and neat layout, featuring distinctive characteristics. Huang Shaorong (1895–1966), styled Jikuan, was a native of Rong County. In the second year of the Xuantong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1910), he enrolled in the Guangxi Army Primary School. Following the outbreak of the Wuchang Uprising in 1911 and the subsequent independence of Guangxi, he joined the Guangxi Student Death Squad organized by the Guangxi authorities for the Northern Expedition, serving as a squad leader. He participated in the northern expedition to support the Wuchang Uprising army. After the ceasefire of the North-South peace talks, he successively attended the Wuchang Army Officer Preparatory School and the Baoding Military Academy. In late 1916, after graduating from the Baoding Military Academy, he returned to Guangxi and served as a probationary officer in the First Division of the Old Gui clique’s Guangxi Army.
