The Rongxian Library was originally established in 1921. The current building covers an area of 1,850 square meters, with a total collection of 165,000 books. It offers multiple service sections including a book lending room, children’s reading room, newspaper and periodicals reading room, and local literature room, all of which provide open-shelf borrowing services.

In 1982, it was recognized as an advanced collective in the national “Young Pioneers Reading Books and Newspapers” campaign by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Ministry of Culture, and the State Education Commission. In 1987, the library represented Guangxi at the “National Symposium on Experience Exchange and Academic Research for Children’s Libraries (Rooms),” where it shared experiences and presented academic papers. In 1994 and 1999, it was rated as a “Guangxi First-Class Library” and a “National Second-Class Library,” respectively. It is also a municipal-level civilized unit in Yulin City and was designated as a “Yulin Youth Science and Technology Education Base” in 2007.
