The Old Teaching Building of Rongxian Middle School is part of the "Rongxian Modern Architectural Complex," a national key cultural relics protection unit. The old teaching building is located within Rongxian Middle School in Rongzhou Town, Rongxian County, Guangxi, facing south with its back to the north. Built in 1917, it is a two-story brick-and-wood structure modeled after Japan’s Waseda University and French Gothic architecture. The building has a mountain-shaped floor plan, with front and rear verandas on both levels. The space between the veranda columns is spanned by graceful arched openings. The overall structure is neat, majestic, and elegant in appearance. Since its completion, the building has nurtured many outstanding individuals, including Wu Jiayi—one of the key leaders of the Southeastern Guangxi Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising and a renowned martyr of Guangxi—Xia Guozhang, a general who died in battle against the Japanese, and Huang Tongsheng, a world-famous table tennis player. Numerous military, political, and civilian leaders and notable figures have studied here.
