Guangxi Art Museum

The Guangxi Art Museum (including the “Guangxi Art Museum, Guangxi Calligraphy Museum, China (Guangxi) Seal Engraving Art Museum, and Yang Taiyang Art Museum”) is a major public welfare project of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, invested in and operated by Guangxi Tourism Development Group Co., Ltd. The project is located in the core area of the Wuxiang New District in Nanning, Guangxi, and is a large-scale comprehensive provincial art museum with main functions including exhibition, exchange, research, and collection.

The Guangxi Art Museum covers a land area of 104 mu, with a total construction area of 36,000 square meters and a total investment of 341 million yuan. The main building features an architectural form based on geometric volumes, encompassing a diverse range of art movements. It showcases rich ethnic characteristics of Guangxi through patterns such as Zhuang brocade and bronze drum motifs, reflecting unity, harmony, openness, and inclusiveness. The first floor houses a multi-functional hall, multimedia screening room, VIP reception room, and logistics service facilities. Floors two to four contain a total of 15 exhibition halls, with an exhibition area of approximately 10,000 square meters and a total display line of about 17,000 meters. The premium exhibition halls are equipped with gas fire suppression systems and climate-controlled display cases, featuring the highest level of security measures, and are capable of hosting international-level collection exchanges and exhibitions. There is also a modern collection storage area covering 3,600 square meters.

The completion of the Guangxi Art Museum will fill the gap in large-scale fine arts exhibition venues in Guangxi, becoming a new platform for the development of the cultural industry and artistic exchange in the region. It aims to serve as a regional art research center, collection and exhibition hub, and academic exchange center for China facing Southeast Asia, as well as a base for art education and industry development. The establishment and operation of the Guangxi Art Museum will play an important role in enhancing the city’s cultural taste and promoting the great development and prosperity of Guangxi’s cultural undertakings.

Opening Hours: Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00–17:00; last admission at 16:00. (Closed on Mondays, except public holidays)

Visiting Guidelines:

1. Admission is free. Visitors must present a valid ID, including: passport, military (or soldier) ID, senior citizen card, or student ID.

2. Visitors are strictly prohibited from bringing flammable, explosive, or controlled items such as knives, or pets into the museum.

3. Please observe the visiting order, follow the guidance of museum staff, and avoid touching artworks or other exhibits.

4. No smoking, spitting, littering, loud noise, or running is allowed.

5. Please take care of elderly and children accompanying you to avoid accidents.

6. Please keep your personal belongings secure to prevent loss.

Transportation

Bus: Take bus No. 48 within the city and get off at Guangxi Art Museum (Stop 15).

By Car:

From Jiangbei Direction:

Cross the river via Nanning Bridge or Wuxiang Bridge, head south via Wuxiang Ping Le Overpass, go straight through Ping Le Tunnel until reaching the Qiuyue Road intersection at Ping Le (the third crossroad after exiting the tunnel), turn right onto Qiuyue Road, and drive straight for about 1.5 km to reach the museum, which is located on the right side of the road.

From Jiangnan Direction:

Travel via Yinghua Bridge – Wuxiang Bridge to Wuxiang Ping Le Overpass, then follow the same directions as from the Jiangbei direction;

Or travel along Wuxiang Avenue to Wuxiang Ping Le Overpass, then follow the same directions as from the Jiangbei direction;

Or travel along Yudong Avenue to the Yuxiang Road intersection, turn left onto Yuxiang Road, continue to the Qiuyue Road intersection, turn right onto Qiuyue Road, drive straight for about 900 meters, make a U-turn, then drive back about 550 meters to reach the museum on the right side of the road.
