Tianhu Lake (Wanfeng Lake) is a national water conservancy scenic area.

Drive 5 kilometers south from the county town of Pubei in Guangxi, then head east for another 6.5 kilometers, and you’ll arrive at Yuexiu Tianhu Lake. Located in the Xiaojing Reservoir area, Yuexiu Tianhu Lake stretches from north to south with a maximum length of 52 kilometers. The lake covers an area of 79 square kilometers, has a water storage capacity of over 1.2 billion cubic meters, and contains more than a hundred small islands. The lake water is crystal clear, and the vast misty waters are surrounded by lush green mountains nearby. Litchi and mango orchards have been developed around the lake. Yuexiu Tianhu Lake serves not only as a new production base for lychees, longans, and freshwater fishery and shrimp farming in Pubei County, but also as a great destination for tourism and leisure. It features natural attractions such as Crane Island, Dongpo Ferry, Fubo Shoal, Wangfu Ridge, Qingzhu Lake, Antiphonal Singing Slope, and the Three Emperors Temple. Crane Island is home to thousands of white cranes, and also includes cultural sites such as the Yuexiu Grand Aqueduct and the former residence of General Xiang Hanping. The residence showcases a fusion of Chinese and Western architectural styles, with pavilions and towers built along the hills and beside the water. Just 6 kilometers from the Xiang Han residence lies Shizhen Yangtian Lake, the ancient city of Yuexiu, which has a history of over 1,500 years. Historical records indicate that during the Southern Dynasties, Yuexiu had jurisdiction extending east to Maoming in Guangdong, south to the entire Leizhou Peninsula, west bordering Qinzhou, and north reaching Rongxian—functioning as a provincial-level military and administrative unit comparable to Guangzhou at the time. Yuexiu Tianhu Lake offers a unique experience where a one-day trip not only lets you enjoy the distinctive lakes and mountains of southeastern Guangxi, but also allows you to explore a historic city with over 1,500 years of heritage.
