Gexi Valley (known as "the place where beautiful Yao girls live" in the Yao language, or "Aya" in the Yao tongue)—China’s White Pants Yao Folk Culture Park (hereinafter referred to as “Gexi Valley”) is the core scenic area of the White Pants Yao folk culture in Nandan. Located between Chengguan Town in the eastern part of Nandan County and Lipu Yao Ethnic Township, it is 17 kilometers from the county town and 8 kilometers from Lipu Yao Ethnic Township, offering very convenient transportation. The base lies on a flatland between mountains and a river, surrounded by picturesque hills. Covering a total area of about 210 hectares (approximately 14,000 mu), it consists of two parts: the Yao village and the karst river area. There are 21 distinctive residential buildings already constructed, inhabited by simple and kind-hearted White Pants Yao people, with 16 grain barns distributed in an orderly fashion among the homes. Gexi Valley (Ganhe White Pants Yao Village) primarily showcases the daily life of the White Pants Yao residents, among which the most distinctive is the White Pants Yao culture—its marriage customs, funeral rites, clothing, and dietary traditions are ancient and deeply rooted, representing treasures of world ethnic culture.
