Lingji Temple and the Round Carved Stone Buddha The ruins of Lingji Temple are located on a mid-slope platform on the northern side of Shiyin Ridge in Dayuan Village, Tangbu Town (formerly Chishui Township). Between April and May 2000, the Guangxi Museum conducted emergency excavations at the Lingji Temple site. Through preliminary sorting of artifacts and review of related literature, it was confirmed that the round carved stone Buddha statues unearthed at the Lingji Temple site are well-proportioned, with full and rounded facial features, smooth lines, and excellent form and spirit. These reflect the high aesthetic taste and exquisite carving skills of the ancient people who built Lingji Temple. They are believed to date back to the Tang and Song dynasties, indicating that Buddhism once flourished in the area, and that this Lingji Temple is an extremely rare find in Guangxi.
