Enter and exit via Bucharest, following the classic triangle route of “Capital – Sinaia – Brașov – Bran Castle.” This works well for both trains and self-driving, and it’s best to pack light.
In the morning, take a guided tour of the Palace of the Parliament (book online in advance and bring your passport to enter). In the afternoon, visit the Village Museum and Revolution Square. Enjoy dinner and live jazz in the Lipscani district at night. The city center is easily navigated by metro lines M2/M3 and on foot, but wear comfortable shoes for the cobblestone streets of the Old Town.
Take an early train to Sinaia (1.5 hours), store your luggage, and spend 2–3 hours visiting Peleș Castle. In the afternoon, take a 40-minute train to Brașov. Explore the Council Square and the Black Church in the evening. Stay overnight in Brașov’s Old Town, and try local craft beer and grilled meat in the evening.
In the morning, take a bus or taxi to Bran Castle. Arrive early to avoid crowds. In the afternoon, drive or take a train to Sighișoara. Climb the clock tower, walk up wooden staircases, and have dinner at a restaurant in the former home of Vlad III. Spend the night within the medieval citadel.
In the morning, take some final photos in Sighișoara’s citadel. In the afternoon, take a train or drive back to Bucharest (around 3.5 hours). Head to the airport in the evening. If your flight is late, enjoy a farewell dinner at the century-old beer house near the North Railway Station.
