T-money Transportation Card
Available at convenience stores (GS25, CU, 7-Eleven). Card fee is 2,500–4,000 KRW. After topping up, it can be used on subways, buses, taxis, and some convenience stores in Seoul and Busan. Basic subway fare is 1,400 KRW, and bus transfers come with discounts.
Between Cities
- Seoul – Busan: KTX takes about 2 hours 30 minutes, approximately 59,800 KRW.
- Seoul – Jeju: Flight takes about 1 hour, one-way fare from 30,000 to 70,000 KRW.
- Busan – Jeju: Flight takes about 1 hour.
- Seoul – Gyeongju: KTX takes about 2 hours.
Tips
- Korean taxis are categorized as standard, premium, and large. Premium taxis are black and about 20% more expensive.
- Late-night (0:00–4:00) taxi rides incur a 20% surcharge.
- Use Naver Map or Kakao Map to check bus routes and book rides—they’re more accurate than Google Maps.
- T-money card balances can be refunded at convenience stores (card fee is non-refundable).
