Turkmenistan enforces very strict visa policies. Even for short visits, you’ll need to secure an invitation letter (LOI) via a registered travel agency, which will also organize your guide and transport. Independent travel is virtually not allowed, so plan well ahead for approvals. Group tours generally cost between $115–$185 per day, covering the invitation, guide, private vehicle, and some meals. You must stay on the pre-approved itinerary and carry your passport and registration papers for inspection.
