Day 1–2: Beirut | Day 3: Byblos, Jounieh, and Jeita Grotto | Day 4: Baalbek | Day 5: Cedar Mountain and the Cedars of God | Day 6: Tripoli and Northern Lebanon | Day 7: Sidon or Tyre, then return to Beirut for departure. Based in Beirut, most attractions are within a 1–2 hour drive.
In the morning, head to Byblos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the ancient harbor, Crusader castle, and Phoenician ruins. In the afternoon, visit Jeita Grotto and take a boat ride to view underground rivers and stalactites. End the day with a seaside walk and dinner in Jounieh.
Travel inland to Baalbek in the Beqaa Valley to see the grand Roman temple complex, one of Lebanon’s most important ancient sites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is recommended to join a day tour or hire a private car. Check local road conditions and safety advisories before setting out.
Head north to the mountains to visit the Cedars of God, the iconic Lebanese cedar forest and a national nature reserve. Also stop by monasteries and mountain villages in the Qadisha Valley. In winter, you can enjoy skiing while experiencing the history and nature of Lebanon’s mountainous region.
Travel to Tripoli, the northern port city, and explore the Old Town’s souks, mosques, and Crusader-era architecture. Sample local sweets. In the afternoon, return along the northern coast or relax by the sea.
Head south in the morning to Sidon or Tyre to visit ancient seaside ruins and the Old Town. Return to Beirut in the afternoon and head to the airport in the evening for your departure. If time is limited, you can spend half a day at Beirut’s seaside before leaving.
