Days 1–3: Northwest (Castries, Rodney Bay, Gros Islet) → Day 4: Marigot Bay → Days 5–6: Soufrière and the Pitons → Day 7: Departure from Vieux Fort. Saint Lucia is small, but its central mountainous terrain means actual driving distances are often longer than map estimates. Renting or hiring a car is recommended for the full route, covering about 300 km in total.
After arriving at Hewanorra International Airport or George F. L. Charles Airport, check in to Castries or Rodney Bay. Spend the afternoon exploring the Castries Central Market, with its tropical fruits, spices, and handicrafts, then stroll around Derek Walcott Square and the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. In the evening, drive to the Morne Coubaril Estate for views over Castries Bay and cruise ships.
Swim, paddleboard, or try water sports on Reduit Beach in the morning, where the long sandy shore and well-developed facilities await. Afternoon strolls can include shops and cafés in Rodney Bay’s marina area. In the evening, head to the Gros Islet fishing village for seafood, with its concentration of bars and live music making it the island’s liveliest nightlife spot.
Hike and snorkel at Pigeon Island National Landmark, home to mangroves, cacti, white-sand bays, and colonial-era military ruins. The viewpoint offers vistas toward Martinique. Later, explore the north coast at your own pace, finding a quiet bay to watch the sunset before returning to Rodney Bay for the night.
Drive to Marigot Bay, considered one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful natural bays. Admire it from elevated viewpoints before taking a small ferry to the resort side. Lined with palms and sailboats, it’s perfect for a relaxing half-day stop, before heading back to Rodney Bay in the afternoon.
In the morning, go snorkeling at the base of the Pitons by boat or hike the Toraille Waterfall rainforest trail. In the afternoon, explore the black-sand beaches near Vieux Fort along the southern coast before heading to Hewanorra Airport for your departure.
