Visiting Tips
Ferries or small planes are needed to travel between the three islands in the Comoros. Plan your inter-island transport and sightseeing itinerary together to avoid a rushed schedule. Volcano hikes and marine park activities must be conducted with a certified guide, and you should monitor volcanic activity and weather alerts. Moroni Old Town and Mutsamudu Old Town are walkable, while rural areas and terraces are best explored by car rental. Spices and essential oils are local specialties and make great souvenirs, but be sure to follow aviation and customs regulations. If time is limited, prioritize the volcano on Grande Comore and the marine park on Mohéli.
