Itineraries 2026-10-03 1 views 7 days
A mix of main-island nature and beaches plus off-island slow living—experience the Spice Island’s horseshoe bay, rainforest, and surrounding isles all in one trip.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1: Arrive in St. George’s → Day 2: Explore St. George’s town and Grand Anse → Day 3: Grand Etang Rainforest & Waterfalls → Day 4: North Coast Spices & Chocolate → Day 5: Morne Rouge & Underwater Sculpture Park → Day 6: Carriacou → Day 7: Departure. The main island is compact, with driving times of just 1–2 hours around the island, while outer islands require a ferry or small plane.

Day 1: Arrive in St. George’s – First View of the Horseshoe Bay

After arriving at Maurice Bishop International Airport, head to St. George’s. In the evening, stroll along Carenage waterfront to see cargo ships, yachts, and colorful houses surrounding the iconic horseshoe-shaped bay—a classic Grenadian scene.

Day 2: St. George’s Town & Grand Anse Beach

In the morning, climb Fort George for bay views, then explore Market Square to experience local life. In the afternoon, visit Grand Anse Beach on the south coast, where over two kilometers of soft white sand and calm waters are perfect for swimming or relaxing.

Day 3: Grand Etang Rainforest & Waterfalls

Venture into central Grenada’s Grand Etang National Park. Hike the crater lake trail, where you might spot the island’s unique monkeys. Stop by Annandale Falls, then visit Sulphur Springs to soak in one of the Caribbean’s few volcanic hot springs.

Day 4: North Coast Spices, Cocoa & Rum

Travel north along the west coast to Gouyave and Victoria. Tour nutmeg processing factories and spice estates to learn about nutmeg harvesting and grading. Then visit cocoa and rum distilleries to sample locally made rum blended with sugarcane and spices. This day showcases why Grenada is called the “Spice Isle.”

Day 5: Morne Rouge & Underwater Sculpture Park

Head to the southwest coast’s Morne Rouge. Snorkel or dive in Molinere Bay to see the world’s first underwater sculpture park—Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park. The sculptures evolve with coral growth, creating a stunning, surreal underwater experience.

Day 6: Carriacou Outer Island Day Trip

Take a ferry (Osprey line) or small plane from St. George’s to Carriacou. Spend a relaxed half-day on the island’s beaches, in its boat-building village, and at scenic lookouts to experience more traditional Caribbean life. Return the same day or stay overnight.

Day 7: Wrap-Up & Departure

Shop for nutmeg, cocoa, and rum souvenirs in the morning, or go for another snorkel session near the shore. Head to the airport based on your flight schedule in the afternoon.

Tips

  • Ferry services to Carriacou are limited and weather-dependent, so allow flexible time.
  • Avoid flying within 24 hours after diving—plan your itinerary accordingly.
  • When driving, stay left. Roads are narrow and winding, so drive cautiously.
