Sydney’s main attractions are spread along the harbour and eastern coastline. Allocating one day each to the harbour, beaches, Blue Mountains, and markets helps minimise commuting time.
Circular Quay → Sydney Opera House (book a guided interior tour if you wish) → Harbour Bridge Pylon Lookout → The Rocks weekend market → evening ferry or cruise on Sydney Harbour to enjoy the night view. The Opera House exterior is best photographed at sunrise or dusk.
Bondi Beach → Bondi to Coogee coastal cliff walk (approx. 6 km, 2 hours) → Taronga Zoo to see native Australian animals → ferry to Manly and enjoy fish and chips by the beach.
Take a train to Katoomba, see the Three Sisters rock formation and Echo Point, ride the Scenic World cableway and scenic railway, and walk a section of the eucalyptus forest trail. On the way back, stop by the town of Leura for coffee.
Eat oysters and seafood at Sydney Fish Market → Darling Harbour and SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium → Art Gallery of New South Wales → shopping on Pitt Street, then head to the airport in the evening. If you have extra time, consider adding a day trip to the Wollongong Sea Cliff Bridge or Hunter Valley wineries.
